CILY4P : Oh, here's Faxel Now!!!
Faxel 1 : Hi everyone.
CILY4P : Soooo, what's the surprise?
SteveA2792 : hello
Faxel 1 : Surprise? I love surprises . . .
CILY4P : Faxel, are you not the host today?
Faxel 1 : Just kidding. Yes, I am.
CILY4P : LOL
Faxel 1 : Tonight's topic is supposed to be the Nutcracker
tours.
Faxel 1 : I just wonder if enough people have seen at least one
of them.
CILY4P : Okay, that's cool
Sita895661 : I saw the arena tour!
Faxel 1 : Hello there!
CILY4P : I wanted to go, but by the time I knew the date, it
had come and gone!
GREGGinGA : Here in Atlanta New Year's Eve - tickets available, I
believe.
Faxel 1 : That's a shame. At least you'll see it on TV.
Sita895661 : The highlight of the arena tour was certainly Oksana
DQSK8FAN : Hi everyone.
CILY4P : Ya
Sita895661 : She IS Clara
Faxel 1 : Hi Dottie.
Sita895661 : Hi Dottie
CILY4P : Sita, yes Definatly!
Faxel 1 : I agree about Oksana. She IS the show.
Sita895661 : Hi Marge!
CILY4P : I heard she's a very good actor <g>
Faxel 1 : Hi Marge.
Jambon99 : Hi Marge
Sita895661 : On the other hand..Boitano as prince..well..
Sita895661 : Hi Mike!
SBrackin : Hi, all. Do we have a topic for tonight?
CILY4P : Nutcracker on Ice Tours
Jambon99 : hi sita
Faxel 1 : Problem with Boitano is that he is NOT the Nutcracker
prince.
MargeR1 : Why did they decide to call his role the Cavelier
Prince?
DQSK8FAN : I missed it. It was in Worcester the same night
Stars on Ice was in Boston.
GREGGinGA : it's due to be on TV before Atlanta performance.
Worth it for me to go to in person?
Nebula5 : Hi, all!
Faxel 1 : Marge, I wish someone could explain that to me!
SBrackin : Was anyone who went disappointed, or do you feel you
got your money's worth?
Sita895661 : I think it's worth it..
Sita895661 : Oksana makes up for everything
Sita895661 : Rory flack was also great
SRisch : g'evening all...is there a set topic tonite?
Faxel 1 : Has anyone seen the theater version?
MargeR1 : I liked both the theater and the arena shows but wish
the theater version would also be tele
MargeR1 : vised
MargeR1 : I saw the Orser theater version in Merrillville,
Indiana
Faxel 1 : It's a real shame the theater version will not be
televised. I thought it was delightful.
Nebula5 : How is it a theater version? Skating in a theater?
Faxel 1 : Yes. It's much easier to follow, because there's not
so much happening at the same time.
MargeR1 : The skating moves were more impressive in the arena
but I felt more into the story at the
MargeR1 : theater one
CILY4P : Is Oksana also in the theater version?
Faxel 1 : The theater one is more intimate. Also, the roles are
more approprate and believable.
SBrackin : When is it being televised?
CILY4P : New Year's Eve
CILY4P : NBC
MargeR1 : one thing drove me crazy at the theater performance
and wonder if this happened at other sho
MargeR1 : ws--- were there skating shadows on the surrounding
walls?
Nebula5 : So, they put ice on the stage? This sounds
interesting. Any other shows do that?
Faxel 1 : There have been theater skating shows done before,
including the Nutcracker show. Usually this is
SBrackin : The World Champions on Ice tour did it last year,
didn't they (theatre on ice).
Faxel 1 : done in amusement parks, actually.
Faxel 1 : And yes, World Champions was on a stage, too.
CILY4P : I saw some thing with Mickey Mouse at Magic Mountain
in a Theatre, mickey ain't a bad skater!
GREGGinGA : LOL, Cily
Nebula5 : I'm stunned. Never heard of this. They've never done
it here (Seattle)
MargeR1 : They needed a bigger surface in Merrillville, Orser
had a close call on his back flip....
Sita895661 : The Pas De Deux dance between Boitano & Oksana was
pretty "cold"
MargeR1 : It scared me when he landed very loudly when he ran
out of ice........
Faxel 1 : Orser is actually very good on a small stage, because
of his footwork and agility.
DQSK8FAN : Is there anyone else in the show(s) we might have
heard of?
GREGGinGA : John Curry's original group in NYC did this many
years ago.
MargeR1 : Lisa Marie ALlen
CILY4P : Victor
MargeR1 : Wayne and Natalie Seybolt
Sk8Cols : Vladimir Petrenko
Faxel 1 : I really enjoyed Drosselmeier in the theater version,
played by Chip Rossbach.
SRisch : Ice Theatre of NY does theater on a big rink now
CILY4P : Isn't Victor in some of them?
SBrackin : Are Vladimir and Victor in the same touring company?
Sk8Cols : just arena
MargeR1 : He seemed much more comfortable using the cape than
Viktor did
DQSK8FAN : Oh, I guess so. Wish I could have seen it.
Sk8Cols : Nina Petrenko too
Faxel 1 : Victor is a much better skater, but he didn't come
across as a great Drosselmeier.
CILY4P : Nina's in it, who does she play?
MargeR1 : It was strange hearing the same voice sound track 2
nites in a row with the 2 shows
Faxel 1 : They should have let Victor be the prince.
Sk8Cols : dont know just saw program book
CILY4P : Oh
Sk8Cols : (re Nina)
MargeR1 : Also the first time I have ever used the same program
for 2 different shows.....
Nebula5 : Sounds like an abundance of riches, Marge!
Faxel 1 : That program really confused people.
CILY4P : Brenda's here!
Faxel 1 : Hi Brenda.
BrendaW660 : Hi, all!!
Nebula5 : This show's not playing anywhere near here, to my
knowledge.
Faxel 1 : We're talking about the Nutcracker tours.
MargeR1 : I wish they had been more specific on who played the
chorus roles in the program for certain
MargeR1 : numbers
Sk8Cols : on tv Saturday 4pm
Sita895661 : But Viktor is skating very well...
CILY4P : saturday at noon PS
